Choices and Consequences

Sermon by Prophet Dr. Hope Hodzi

Transcribed by Pastor Samuel Osei Barimah from the Crossover Service - December 31, 2025

Introduction

As we step into the new year, 2026, we're reminded of the profound gift God has given us: the power of choice. This power, spoken of in Deuteronomy 30:19-20, says, "I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey his voice and that you may hold fast to him, for he is your life and length of days." This scripture underscores the significance of our choices in determining our path and destiny.

As we enter into the new year, your choices will make or unmake you. The greatest gift God gave to man is the power of choice. Deut. 30:19-20. Your choice will determine whether you live or die; it determines whether your life will be sweet or bitter. There is something you have that no one can take from you and that is the power of choice. I want to encourage you to choose God and serve God with diligence and reap the corresponding benefits. Choose life and blessing in 2026. Choose life by choosing Jesus and His life-giving power that transforms. Make the choice to follow and walk with Jesus.

There is no choice without a corresponding consequence. God is a God of options. God does not force people into His will. God is just and He reward our choices with His just rewards. Every decision carries a seed and a guaranteed harvest of consequences. Prayer cannot cancel consequences so you better learn to choose right. Your choices are your seeds and the consequences are fruits and harvest.

Life and death are not only physical. Life here represents peace, power, blessings, prosperity, progress and the like.. Choices and consequences are two inseparable realities of life. If you can make the right choices, God will surely make things happen for you. Choose to live righteously. Every human being is a product of choices. Refusing to choose itself is a choice. That is your indecision is your choice and that constitutes your decision with a corresponding consequences. Every decision you make determines the outcome of your future. Consequence is the effect or outcome that follows your choice. Decision is the act of making a choice or resolving a question, reflecting one's values and priorities. You reap what you sow. You sow a choice and reap consequence. You better make the right choice in order to enjoy the right consequence.

If you don't like the consequences you are seeing in your life, then change your choices. Make good choices by investing wisely in order to secure your future especially in old age and days of doom. Consequences are rewards or penalties that follow your decisions. The good choice is choosing Jesus over every other thing. It is never too late to make the right choice. The outcome of every man's life is the choices they make. If you serve God, your life outcome will be good. Throughout the year 2026, choose life and blessing which is Jesus. Every choice you make affects your generations. Choices are transgenerational in nature. Either your descendants will enjoy the benefits of your choices or endure evil of your choices. You better choose right for the sake of your eternal future and posterity.

Conclusion

Our choices impact not just us but generations. They're trans-generational. Make the right choice for your eternal future and posterity.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

As we enter 2026, grant us wisdom to choose life, to choose You. Guide our decisions, align them with Your will, and bless us with the consequences of choosing righteousness and Jesus Christ. Amen
